I just got back from The Netherlands and boy are my paws tired!
It was actually more like a week ago (how time flies)! I spent my second weekend in Holland visiting with Rietje and her family in their hometown of Enschede.
Upon arrival, Rietje and I went to all of her favorite stores, including this super market (Albert Hein), which runs a seasonal rodent promotion called Hamster Weken! As you can see it affects everything from the prices down to the decor.
Rietje was so happy that I documented all of this!
And a quick advert:
We also went to a very cool book store, the restaurant that her aunt and uncle run and a few other shops and department stores. We stayed with her grandmother who is conveniently located three or four blocks from the central train station. A quick pic of her interior/exterior garden:
And that is all I can say for the moment. I still have five posts I need to get to before Friday!
Lastly, on the England front: I got a major design picked (which beats my CBX batting average of two designs chosen/per year) and got the chance to extend it across twenty-some applications! I also got, and recovered from, a nasty English cold that I got from lovely English flatmate (and passed on to my lovely Dutch girlfriend). Truly the gift that keeps on giving.
I also learned how to make English Tea—much, much more difficult than it looks. Every mug is different. Like snowflakes: no two are alike.
