I have been welcomed to Bloom with open arms, evidenced by my charming polaroid on the office bulletin board.
I go to work in this magnificent building,
which used to be an old school house.
I’m having an amazing time working on some very cool projects for some great (and quintessentially English) clients. I’m trying to collect as much good British design as I can.
Much too much to post here today.
It’s so interesting just to note the differences between the New York and London offices. Superficially they are so similar: loud music (from the communal iTunes station), big room with tall ceilings for all of the designers, free snacks, bold art on the walls and all sorts of afterwork festivities (local pub, fish ‘n chips, comedy clubs, tennis, running). And yet, meetings, mood boards, memos, processes and interactions are all slightly different here. Sometimes it’s hard to put my finger on it. More thoughts to follow here!
Incidentally they also have a cereal called Rickles (note the box behind the apples and honey that my brother and I had for Rosh Hashanah)! Take that Rick Fox.
And lastly, Dave, I saw this and thought of you:
Is this what Joe was talking about?!
Up next, my fabulous trip this past weekend to the Netherlands (or as I like to call it Ho-land)! Here is a sneak preview:
